THE ADAPTATION OF THE OUTCOME MAPPING METHODOLOGY
VISION
1. The program provides an online information exchange network that will help people in education, their working environment, research work and other social opportunities.
2. The stakeholders are aware of the benefits and use localized ICT's in their daily lives and regularly update the information.
3. People are trained to develop intermediate to advanced local language applications that are more useful to them and are able to develop more sophisticated L10n technology after receiving the training.
4. People are networking with other localization groups.
5. People are training new researchers who are interested in the development of local language computing technology.
6. The project identifies the need of information access (in local language ) in the community across gender.
MISSION
To support the vision, the program will work in the following areas:
1. Creating awareness of the benefits gained from use of local language ICTs within the relevant communities.
2. The project is assessing/identifying the need of information access (in local language) in the community.
3. Encouraging end-users like government officers, university’s students and lecturers and private sector to access local language content so that they are able to communicate among themselves and with others through local language.
4. The program is involving key representatives from the public sector, educational institutions, NGO's and other relevant private organizations to participate in the project activates through localized ICT's network.
5. Training on use of localized ICT's to relevant communities.
BOUNDARY PARTNER
1. Lectures and Government Officers in National University of Laos (NUOL)
2. Students and lectures in Soutsaka Institute for Management and Technology.
3. Researchers and Government Officers in Linguistic Research Institute
OUTCOME CHALLENGE
The program intends to see the identified boundary partners being able to play a lead role in the local community by being empowered to act as content information providers. The boundary partners are able to coordinate amongst themselves for online information exchange through development of a resource network. This network facilitates topic based virtual discussion forums, institution for information exchange and development of online data stores. This has led to strengthening and providing greater opportunities to exchange the information needed in the society.
